Look of the day: Secret Citron

September appears to be the time for some great hunts!! Starting September 1st is the Top Shelf Style Hunt presented by one of my favorite shops - PixelSnobs!  I was priviledged enough to be invited as a preview blogger and I'm psyched to show you some awesome gifts that will be available!! In fact, the hunt is so filled with amazingness, that I'm not going to be able to pack it in one post, so expect a little sharing of this hunt here and there.

The first batch I wanted to show is a dress from a sample box (more than one awesome outfit!!) from [dirty.little.secret]. This mesh citron blouson dress comes with matching shoes and looks absolutely gorgeous on. The blogger pack I received also has 3 other outfits in it!! As always,  [dirty.little.secret] is an amazingly generous as well as talented designer!

The necklace is a unisex gift from NUTS Inc, and the picture doesn't do it justice, its gorgeous. It features a cross, wings, male and female symbol and beading. Its really amazingly detailed.

The house I'm in for these photos is my new favorite house from In-Verse. It is a new release and right now you can get it on the marketplace for 99L$ - but only for probably about another 12 hours, so HURRY UP! It fits a 1024 parcel and is just tooooooooo gawjus to pass up!

Amour has released a new "sack" type dress - but this is one designer that does it right - it looks amazing on and comes in various sizes and colours. Each colourpack holds a colour and the basic black dress. It looks so cute and summery on, with a splash of class that I like. Great job!

Last week the creator of Blueberry store sent out some awesome gifts to her group - two pairs of mesh boots and a pair of mesh pants! Check out a set of the boots!!! *Squee!*

(love) has a cute set of group gifts and cheapies in the "Salon" section of their mainstore - The hair I'm wearing is L$1 and is one of the two fatpack styles available in the bag!

If anyone knows me, they know I love pandas - they're just... kyoooooot! Snagged this panda necklace at Izzie's in New York the other day, but you can find it in the Izzie's Mainstore too!

Cart Sale and IS DESIGN!

The amazing bi-annual Cart Sale is on at The Wash right now and every year I think I go a little nuts... like Christmas on a sugar high or something! My wallet takes a kicking, but I can't really pass up the super awesome deals that are provided by the fabulous designers whom participate in the Cart Sale every 6 months.

That said, it took me a LONG time to come up with an outfit to show - there's just so much good stuff! (In fact, expect to see something else from me in the future about this event, because its just so awesome).

In between sorting my inventory after my cart sale insanity, I've been checking blogs (of course!) and I ran across this post at SL Wonderland (which I frequent often) and laughed so hard at the bacon breakfast bag that I had to go nab it. When I did, I discovered "IS DESIGN" - a store that is just plain awesome! Its silly, its fun, its sexy and you should go down there and see what's there! Lucky boards, gatchas and freebies abound and you don't want to miss the cute items offered there.

Here for the party!

Well.. my RL daughter's birthday is later this month, and all I've been hearing is questions about her party, presents and "Is it today?" All of these things being on the brain inspired today's post!

I'm showing another BG Feline avatar mod, because honestly they're so well done that I can't get enough of them! This one is Krystal Fox made by Puppy. She does amazing work and is a super nice person to boot! If you have a Blue Galaxy Feline avi (or any other adorable moddable avatar) you should check out her mods - you'll be blown away!

The adorable balloon props and pose is from Frozen Panty Poses and its a FREEBIE on the marketplace! How cute is that?! They also have some awesome poses and fantastically made clothing too! Peruse through their store for a look-see!

After I got my BG Feline, I spent some time with my head in my inventory looking for some things that might fit the glorious little furry being. I completely lucked out when I found out that my Blueberry Mesh Jenna Skirt in Vintage Black totally fits! It was a group gift from a while ago, but you may be able to get it now, or even purchase it in store - pop by and see! Blueberry generally gives out fabulous group gifts and I wear their designs a lot - its worth the group spot for sure!

Look of the Day: Blue Galaxian Feline

I am so excited to show you the sexy adorableness that is today's "Look of the day". I splurged the other day and got myself a Blue Galaxian Feline avatar and have never been more pleased with a purchase! I mean, just look how adorable this thing is!

Its such an easy avatar to use, you unpack it, put it on and you're ready to go - it even comes with a tank and undies for the ladies so you're not immediately in the buff when starting out. On top of that, once you have the avatar, you can completely customize it. Its completely copy and modifiable!

There are lots of things available on the marketplace and in world for  you to play around with this avatar and I'm having lots of fun discovering what can be done with it. Also, the default facial expressions are just too adorable and I find myself staring at it waiting to see how it will look next! Expect more posts about this avi along with my other posts.

This particular look took a bit of modification - the tube top comes in a texture that you must apply to a copy of your original tank top, but once you have the avatar, the top itself is free! The pants are available straight from the Blue Galaxy mainstore (right outside when you land) and are fully modify just like the shirts. Buying the pants open up a new array of available mods. 

Also, the regular Magika mesh and prim hair does not fit properly - to use this feature, I added the Mod Kit for Magika Hair from the Krystal Fox - Natural BG Feline Mod, which is a package that allows you to mod your regular BG Feline avatar to look like the fox in the picture. Its a gorgeous avatar, but will take some time and editing to set up on the first go. Because I'm a bit lazy and I like my cinnamon feline, I just opted to use the hair mod in the pack (which is a script you drop in a copy of your original head) and eyes. I fully plan on using the fox at a later date though and the L$350 for this pack is totally worth it. Then its just a matter of getting the Magika hair that the box says to buy, or to go to the store itself and try some of the demos to see which you like. Some still don't fit properly (or to my general liking) but a lot are wearable and look fabulous. 

Looking for a fun futuristing photo location? All these photos were taken right inside the Blue Galaxy store and its just a fun place to walk around. 

So, if you have some extra lindens, the starter avi can take you far, so try it out and see how flexible and fun this avatar can be!

Photobomb? Photo explosion!

I was exploring the grid as I tend to do last night, and I stumbled across a fun location on Cyril Plage. Anyone who knows me, knows that I LOVE to take pictures and sometimes if a particular location strikes me, I'm pretty snap happy.

Last night, I was snap euphoric. This photo skybox is open to the public and has 3 floors filled with photo balls, prop locations and backgrounds for men, women, couples and groups!

There are loads of cute, silly, fantasy and professional photo spots here so be sure to take a peek - if it looks like a box or something insignificant - sit on it - its very likely a prop filled with awesome poses.

Look of the Day - Petites!

In my part of the hemisphere, it’s the middle of summer, and it can get HOT. It's definitely ‘lounge around the pool’ weather. What better way to express that then gearing up your petite avi for some warm weather!

Where Mermaids Dance

Today I hung out at the Pillars of Hercules region with a friend of mine - we got to explore it a bit but there are so many things to see we didn't get to see it all - maybe I'll show more of it later.

However, while we were there, we stumbled upon a club under the water and I was completely blown away by the look and feel of this location. This is my semi-photospot post, because the entire sim really is lovely and well made, but this was the part so far that I enjoyed the most.

Its completely underwater, the linden water, so everything has this blue hue and your draw distance is limited accordingly. That said though, you can still use your windlight settings to play around with the look you want, and I did!

The backdrop used on the outside circle gives the illusion that the wall actually is a scene that goes on indefinitely, it caught my eye and held it - I found myself pressing my nose to it seeing if I could peek farther into the scene.

Aside from the backdrop, the lighting caught my eye next - there are spotlights and swirling lights and little wisps... the entire effect being simply magical, as it should be for a hangout of mythical creatures.

There are poseballs for cuddling and dancing like you'd see in any club, but these are "Mer-people" oriented. Mer couples dances, Mer cuddles in pillow filled shells and Mer floating dances.

The pink mermaid outfit I'm wearing is a free gift from the club and comes with a mer-AO - its basic, but works well for the most part and there's a whole outfit for men as well! From the signs in the club there is a Mer Dance every Monday evening - I may just come back to check it out if I'm not already working!

Sim Crossing - Azure Island (Part 3)

Every couple of weeks (RL-willing), I drop in on a Second Life sim -- one square on the grid -- just to see what's there.  And every couple of weeks, I find a treasure or two.  One never knows what one will find in an unknown region!  This feature details the results of my explorations.

Well, I am sure you just itching to know what I found in the Dirty Souff Shopping District of Azure Island.  Before I show you my purchases and finds, though, I should clarify that I did not try on all of the pants that I found.  A big part of the fun I get out of dressing an avatar is the puzzle aspect.  That is to say, it can be tricky to put together an outfit around a fantasy species (such as a faun), and that challenge makes it fun.  (I would never claim to be a fashionista.)

First, let me show you what I purchased.

The sunglasses are from B&G, and built by Gaby Perenti.  They cost me 100L, and I love both the look and the color.  Unfortunately, they do bling, and I was wrong about touching to turn them off.  I may have to contact Gaby, and see if she'd be able to fix me up with a bling-free pair, because I love how they look otherwise!  The Pacman rings from Iced took a bit of adjusting -- I think they were built around smaller hands than mine -- but the idea is clever and I love them.  They are by Scarlet Chandrayaan.  The vest and tee, by Malaysia Nowles, are from Swag on Deck.  I am pleased by the colors and the texturing.  The top would probably benefit from a pair of high-waisted jeans, but that's not the shirt's fault!  The rings set me back 75L, and the vest 100L.

And here is that tee from Level 5 Toxic, which is by Chime Philly.  It's the sort of thing I'd wear on an evening when I'm not really functioning, mentally.  It was originally designed for a male avatar, I believe, which is why the midriff is not exposed.  Which I like.  It does come with a prim collar and cuffs, but I opted not to wear them due to time constraints.  (Did I really spend an entire day on this sim?)  They were being very fussy, as they started big, and my avatar is on the small side.  Still not a bad find for 25L.

The rest of the outfit is from other places.  The hooves, jeans, horns, ears and tail are from *Epic.* The eyes and manicure are from Sterling Artistry.  (Hi Silverr!)  The hair is from Tiny Bird (since closed, but possibly on the Marketplace by now), and the skin is from Imabee.

Okay, on to freebies!  I won't show you all of them, just the ones that seemed to work for me.  The base outfit credits for these are the same, save for the legs and hooves, which are from Fauntasia in the following pictures.

The top and shorts here are the "UW" Casual girl freebie outfit from Urbanwear.  Designed by jesica Banufong, the top involves a very bouncy prim, and the shorts have no prims at all.  I do like how the top is textured, and can imagine it pairing well with a high-waisted skirt.

Here is the Free Pink Rocawear Fit from CM Designs, designed by Disembodied Hand.  The hood needed a bit of adjustment, having been designed around a taller avatar, but that was easy to deal with.   I like the colors -- this is not overboard on pink -- and the wrinkled texturing.  The pants fought a bit with my prim legs, but still managed to look good.

Here are the "lil miss cutie overalls" by FOREVERSTAR25.  You can pick them up at MX Designs.  Aside from the usual pants competition with the prim legs, I really like them with this avatar.  Torn denim over brown fur looks excellent.

This is the cupcake pajama set from Adorkable Swagg, by Tamasa Vanderbor.  Not having prims, this set looks just fine -- adorkable, even -- on an adult avatar.  Well mine, anyway.  If your avatar is a big beefy dude, um, just use your best judgment.

And last but not least, here are the free Witch and Halloween hats from Demon Kitties.  They are by misseuro Chau, and she's gone into great detail with them.  I particularly like the witch hat, with its witch rat familiar and particle wand.  These were still out as of Sunday, November 6th, but as it's after Halloween, I would suggest stopping by there as soon as possible if you want them.  Who knows how long they'll be out?

Well, I had fun with Azure (and you can read the first two posts here and here, by the way), and I did indeed find some cool things there, but next time... well, I'm hoping to land somewhere more rural.  Whew!
